Every year, here in Kansas, usually beginning in March or April, depending on the weather, these hills come alive with FIRE!!! The local cattle ranchers burn off the prairie grass and pray for rain as soon as possible, so that these beautiful rolling hills become transformed. What they become is beyond words to describe! I have never seen such wonder and beauty as I have seen here in the Flint Hills of Kansas!
Beauty does come from ashes, believe it or not!
Last spring I took out my camera and got some beautiful shots of the fire that we set on our grazing pastures for our cattle.
