Fire On The Hills

Every year, here in Kansas, usually beginning in March or April, depending on the weather, these hills come alive with FIRE!!! The local cattle ranchers burn off the prairie grass and pray for rain as soon as possible, so that these beautiful rolling hills become transformed. What they become is beyond words to describe! I have never seen such wonder and beauty as I have seen here in the Flint Hills of Kansas!

Beauty does come from ashes, believe it or not!

Last spring I took out my camera and got some beautiful shots of the fire that we set on our grazing pastures for our cattle.

I was just wondering- I don't have all of my photos labeled- and some of the ones that I do have labeled may not be correct, so if you know of a mistake I have on some of them, how about making a comment on it and let me know. We recently had our 2008 Coe Family Reunion. The reunion was held at Petit Jean State Park in Morrilton, Arkansas on Spetember 20, 2008. We had a good turnout and lots and lots of good food!

Welcome to my blog! I don't know if there is any interest here for you, but I will try to keep it updated and make it interesting for you. I love photography, I am just an amateur, but I believe I have some beautiful shots of certain things. Of course, my favorite thing to photograph is my beautiful family. The next thing I like to take pictures of is flowers and things of nature, especially butterflies and wild flowers. The other subject I love to photograph is churches. I have many many specimens of each of these subjects, some very good and some not so good. I hope you will enjoy seeing some of my pictures. Enjoy!
